In 1988, I moved to Asheville to work as the Regional Recycling Coordinator for the Land-of-Sky Regional Council.  After helping Buncombe County draft one of the first Commercial Cardboard recycling ordinances in the Southeast, I became the County’s Recycling Coordinator.

In 1995, I moved over to the Regional Air Pollution Control Agency to work on Pollution Prevention programs, and later worked as an Indoor Air Specialist and Asbestos Inspector.

When my son Alexander was born in 2000, I decided to take some time off from full-time work to focus on the joys (and challenges!) of being a new parent.  I worked part-time for the Nantahala Outdoor Center’s store in Asheville, and during that time my wife Kim and I started looking for a new home.  I found the process of “house hunting” to actually be enjoyable, so in 2002 I got my Real Estate license and began my second career!

As an agent who's an expert in Greater Asheville area, I bring a wealth of knowledge and expertise about buying and selling real estate here. You need someone who knows this area inside and out! I'll work for you to find the right home at the right price for you, including all the amenities and essential criteria that matter to you .  I can save you time, especially during the home search process.  I will oversee and handle all the details, including negotiating and drafting the offer to purchase; coordinating the inspections, and making sure everything is lined up in time for the closing.   About 60 percent of my real estate business is working with buyers, and assisting out-of-town relocation clients is one of my specialties.

Sell a Home
When it's time to sell your home, you need someone who will advertise and promote the special qualities of your home.  I will prepare a detailed market analysis for your home, including recent comparable sales and your current market competition.  I will show you what you need to do to make sure your home market ready for prospective buyers.  I will negotiate the offer for you,  handle all necessary paperwork, and supervise the closing. I can take care of everything you need, from start to close.

Oftentimes buyers don't visualize living in your home the way you do. I can make your home attractive to its ideal audience - which can help you get top dollar. Things like staging the home, making repairs or minor improvements, or even simply painting the walls can be the difference between a home resting on the market and one that's sold quickly.
